In December of 2012, we were asked by the Milwaukee Art Museum to assist with the service and repair of the cylinders of the Calatrava as part of their preventative maintenance program. We went to work on modifying the hydraulic control blocks (cylinders) so they would safely alleviate excess the pressure within the hydraulic circuit. These cylinders pump the hydraulic fluid that allow the Calatrava to open and close its wings.
